Glass fusing
Glass fusing has been around since ancient times. The precise origins of glass fusing are not known but the Egyptians were familiar with rudimentary techniques. The Romans, however, were prolific glass workers but the technique was largely lost after glass blowing was developed.  In the 1960s the technique made a comeback and it has been developing ever since.  With this versatile technique and you can make 2d and 3d items in the kiln and get some interesting and exciting results.

Come for the day and learn the basics of this wonderful technique.  You will be able to make several small pieces, or larger ones should you wish to.  We will be using Bullseye glass and will experiment with frit glass, glass powder, stringers, metal inclusions etc.  You will learn to cut your own glass pieces or you can use pre-cut elements.  Please note that the pieces you make on the day have to be fired in a kiln so you will need to return to collect the pieces the following week.
