Gardens (page 2)

Vegetable/Scented Garden
Raised beds provide a good opportunity for all to have a closer look at vegetable and scented plants and experience how these plants form an important part of our lives.
A good mixture of old and new vegetables will be grown here and used within the café. This part of the garden will be developed from 2011. The beds are manufactured from reused wood, taken from the original herb beds.

Herbaceous/herb borders
Colourful herbaceous plants in this long border show year-long interest and a good balance in structure and texture. Plants are specially selected for their capability for attracting bees and butterflies. The herbs in the herb border are being used in the café to season the dishes. There is a good balance of Mediterranean herbs.

Around the cottage
This area is last to be developed and will have a more cottage garden feel to it. Lots of colourful flowers, climbing roses, a small orchard, formal and informal planting. Work on this part of the garden will start in 2012.

The ecological sculpture garden displays sculpture from various artists and the sculptures on display will change frequently. The set up of the garden is an ideal platform for artists to display their work and for our visitors to become inspired, amazed or just relax and to stroll through.
